How are we doing?

The various programs of the Shelter Association all have a common goal: financial stability and sustainable housing.  We seek to accomplish this goal via a case management model that guides all of our programs and services.

The success of the Shelter Association's case management approach is twofold: first, the Shelter Association does not duplicate services already available in the community and thus does not spend unnecessary funding; second, clients have access to a broad range of services that are coordinated by a single professional case worker. This case management model brings several trained professionals together for problem solving, guidance, and advocacy for each client based on his/her specific needs and builds a network of support for each individual.

The Shelter Association’s comprehensive approach to the individual issues surrounding homelessness is a cutting edge method that works and can be replicated in most urban communities. The result of this team-based case management is a dramatic improvement in Night Shelter client success.  The following chart illustrates the housing outcomes for clients who participated in the Night Shelter program:

Night Shelter Program outcomes July 1, 2007 to June 30, 2008
